There is a 2-way footswitch available so you can control the gain boost feature and turn the FX loop on and off.

The footswitchable gain boost feature allows you to develop your sound by adding an extra level of gain to deliver crunch to your tone. With one channel, this amp still offers a variety of tones. By using the tilt control you can vary your sound from normal to high treble to access the one you prefer.

Marshall's new power reducing technology, PowerstemTM, allows you to have high, medium or low power modes to suit your environment, from playing small venues to playing in your bedroom. PowerstemTM works by reducing the voltage rails around the power amplifier rather than using our traditional pentode/triode reduction methods. This offers power reduction s without changing the sonic character and so provides optimum tone and performance regardless of the volume level required by guitarists. Meaning you can play at lower volumes, while still maintaining the sought after characteristics of playing a valve amplifier at higher outputs. Couple this with use of the 'presence' control, which increases the high frequency content and you have the ability to create great tones and any volume level.
